Unified
Search
Search is one of the two key pathways for users to find information on your website. For large organisations like a University, itβs even more critical simply because of the sheer mass of information to discover.
At UWA I designed a unified Search Engine Results Page (SERP) to centralise the search journey.
-CHALLENGE-
Search results can depend on where you start the search which sends you on to any number of results pages.
-SOLUTION-
Eyes on target
Combining multiple search results pages into a single page enables users to refine or completely rescope the initial query reducing upfront accuracy from where they initiated their search.
Now we can target our new unified SERP page from most search boxes.
Restricting search to a specific area of a website can provide better results, faster. But users overlook, misunderstand, and forget about the search scope.
